Flash games are becoming more and more creative with their style and their goals. This game, Manifold, features a very traditional objective; to reach the end of the stage. But the method in which you reach the stage is completely dependent upon your actions, where you place things, where you shoot, how you dodge obstacles, etc. It’s all about seeing how the board looks, devising a map in your head to make your way through, and executing at it – almost like logical homework thinking! …except in game form Give it a play! When we first heard of Turtles Forever, we were in TMNT heaven. Then crushed, when it was taken away. But then happy again when it was brought back as a TV movie. Unfortunately, many folks missed the airing, and with no specific talk of a DVD or theatrical release, the special was thought to be lost. But, ah, the joy of the internet! Thanks to awesome video sites, and the caring upload of loyal fans, Turtles Forever now lives online, in an unedited director’s cut format. Columbia and Sony Pictures Animation have one request: more Smurfs. As the two work together on the upcoming film, a hybrid of live-action and CG animation, they are scouting around to add cast members as voices for the little blue folks. Already signed on to the movie are Jonathan Winters as Papa Smurf, George Lopez as Grouchy Smurf, Katy Perry as Smurfette, and Alan Cumming as Gutsy, but with a cast of thousands, you can never have enough! With the help of SkyJack Publishing and Turner CN Enterprises, Cartoon Network will be taking over Megaton! The video gaming magazine recently launched in the UK, and each 100-page issue will feature nearly 20 pages of Cartoon Network focused content. That means comic strips, video game tips, sneak peeks, and behind the scenes info from all your favorites, like The Secret Saturdays, Samurai Jack, Ben 10, Codename: Kids Next Door, and others. Marvel Entertainment and Disney are expanding their horizons with everyone’s favorite web-headed wall-crawler, Spider-Man. In a partnership with Reebok, shoe-maker extraordinaire, Spider-Man will be gracing sneakers later this year, with the footwear available at Finish Line stores nationwide starting in the next few weeks. Disney has made it’s way to the soul (ha!) of the issue before, with sneakers featuring Mickey Mouse, Goofy, and other Disney icons, just as Ben 10 has had his own sneaker involvement in the past. No word yet on whether or not these sneakers will give you the ability to walk up the sides of buildings, or if the laces could double as webbing to swing from rooftop to rooftop, but… we doubt it. Turner CN Enterprises has some big plans for Fresh TV’s Total Drama series over seas in London. The Cartoon Network (“CN”, indeed) supporting company is in the process of developing a new products for the entire Total Drama franchise, which includes Total Drama Island, Total Drama Action, Total Drama World Tour, and the not-yet-appropriately-named season 4 of Total Drama. As of now, the scope of the deals include publishing rights, DVD sales, and so on, but the nothing of further concepts (toys? video games?) is likely right around the corner. (more… )
