Inspector Gadget and Johnny Test to Viper Comics
Typically, as seen with specials like Wolverine and the X-Men, it’s the other way around – comics becoming cartoons. But now, two generations worth of toons are now headed into the media of comic books; Inspector Gadget and Johnny Test are making the full transition from animation to the printed page, as Viper Comics signs the two properties to comic book deals. Inspector Gadget, DIC Entertainment’s (now Cookie Jar Entertainment’s) classic 80s toon, features a cyborg detective, whose human body stores multiple bionic gadgets — somewhat like an early Generator Rex! Johnny Test, on the other (non-bionic) hand, follows the adventures of Johnny and his brilliant twin sisters Susan and Mary. Fans can expect a graphic novel collection of each to hit store shelves in early 2011, along side a field dominated by Spider-Man, Batman, Superman, and other Marvel and DC super heroes. (more… )

First up was Bleach: Memories of Nobody, a 2006 film of the anime and manga Bleach series, which has only aired once before on Adult Swim, back on September 5th, 2009. The second film was the Bleach sequel, The Diamond Dust Rebellion, aired immediately afterward – nearly a full month before it will be available in Europe on DVD. Disney’s Toy Story 3 tops DreamWorks’ Shrek 2 as top earning animated film
For 6 years now, Shrek 2 has remained on top of the mountain as the all-time highest grossing animated film, dethroning the Lion King after Disney’s animated classic had a 10 year reign. As of this past week, there’s a new boss in town, Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 3. The 3D sequel juggernaut has earned over $920 million worldwide in the box office (over $400 million locally) besting Shrek’s $919.8 million.
