Avatar takes filming to a new level

We already know that Avatar is setting records. But some people are trying to figure out “how” it’s doing so well — I mean, other than the fact that it graces us with some gorgeous CG animation effects. James Cameron’s Avatar still setting records

James Cameron's Avatar still setting records

With every passing day, Avatar continues to set box office records (no, not Nickelodeon’s Avatar). James Cameron’s latest epic adventure turns the art of CG animation into a masterpiece unlike any have before. All four weeks in theaters, the film has hit the top spot, only losing marginal ground week-to-week, which is incredibly rare for a film. Showing in nearly 200 Imax screens, with nearly 100 more Imax 3D theaters, it has become the largest production to date. As of this posting, it’s just shy of $500million domestically, a line it will likely cross this weekend. It’s huge!! Have you seen it yet? Would this trailer help? (more… )
