That’s a lot of colons! But Cartoon Network doesn’t care, and neither do we! Cartoon Network is bringing us 22 “enhanced episodes” of their Star Wars cartoon starting Friday, May 1st, at 9pm. The episodes, titled Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Decode, feature little popup windows with facts and trivia about Lucasfilm Animation’s Jedi universe. The “Decode” series will continue every Friday at 9pm until the fall, for the premiere of the second season of The Clone Wars.

Monsters vs. Aliens broke Imax theater records when it opened a week back — it had the largest Imax 3D opening ever with $5.1 million dollars across almost 150 screens. The DreamWorks Animation SKG and Paramount movie is available in both 2D and 3D, and has already made close to $75 million dollars! Not bad, big guys!!

Transformers 2 hasn’t even hit the big screen yet, but they’ve already reserved a spot for the third film, so-far creatively titled… Transformers 3!  The robots in disguise will be in theaters in their second film, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, June 24th of this year, and the third film July 1st of 2011.  Both movies will again be a mix of live action and CG animation, with connections to the original cartoon series.

I looove cookies! And now, I think CBS does too! Or, at least, Cookie Jar Entertainment. Even though companies like 4KidsTV abandon cartoon networks, CBS and Cookie Jar want to bring you toons instead!! The two companies just agreed to produce Saturday morning cartoons for the next three seasons! It’s not yet decided which cartoons will appear during the block, but could we be watching the Metajets as well as Noonbory & the Super 7 on CBS soon enough…?

We’ve talked about the series Metajets before, but now that we’re getting close to the launch, the news is coming in much faster. The mixed 2D and 3D, CGI animated action series from Cookie Jar Entertainment revolves around young flying aces competing in the Aeronautical Racing Circuit. Canada’s Teletoon is already prepping for the adventure to debut, later this year.

Monsters vs. Aliens hits theaters on March 29, 2009.  But we knew that already!  What we’re finding out now is that they’ll be making a special debut on the largest scale of them all: the Super Bowl!  And in 3D no less!  The game is on February 1st,and at some point during it, there will be a three-minute, 3D trailer.  Even the 3D glasses are free — they’re being handed out at various places all through out January.  Stay TOONed right here for details on how you can get your own pair and watch the commercial trailer in style!

All you lucky cartoon fans up there in Canada will soon have another reason to celebrate!  Toei Animation has recently agreed to bring its popular anime title Pretty Cure to Canada’s YTV.  The first season of the series is all set to debut in the spring of 2009.

Shrek and Donkey will be teaming up once more for an appearance in theaters.  Shrek 4 is slated to hit the big screen during the summer of 2010, about a year and a half from this post.  That sounds like a pretty long time, but no worries, we have other Shrek performances to keep us occupied til then!
