Batman Beyond: The Complete Series makes Warner Bros. a hero
Warner Bros. Animation has a rich history of bringing DC Comics super heroes to life via animation, and then to your homes via DVD collections. One of the more popular, if not cult-ish, toons that has since been neglected in a complete collection is Batman Beyond, the Future Knight version of the Batman mythos, created by Batman: The Animated Series and Justice League folks like Bruce Timm and Paul Dini. Now, WB unveils that they’re making everything right in the world, releasing Batman Beyond: The Complete Series, a nine-disc DVD set, on November 23rd, 2010. The package includes all 52 episodes, bonus features, and a 24-page booklet. Check out the box art! (more… )

Pixar’s Toy Story 3 earns Disney another spot in the $1 billion club
Not only are the toys back in town, the toys are in the money! Just last week, Pixar’s Toy Story 3 became the highest grossing animated film of all time, besting DreamWorks Animations’ Shrek 2. A few weeks before that, the Disney film crossed the $400 million dollar mark. Now, the box office receipts make it official, as Toy Story 3 moves into the incredibly exclusive $1 billion dollar club. Ignoring the concept of inflation, there are only 6 other movies in this famous grouping, which helps set Toy Story 3 aside as one of the greatest films and accomplishments of all time – just edging out Batman’s The Dark Knight. With the third, and reportedly final installment in the trilogy, the Toy Story franchise will forever be known as one of the most successful. Take a look at the rest of the list (more… )

Cartoon Network says farewell to Chowder in Chowder Grows Up
For nearly three years and 49 episodes, Chowder has made an impact on the animated world. During its run, the Cartoon Network series, created by C. H. Greenblatt, has made everyone in, and out, of Marzipan City proud. Unfortunately, like Batman the Brave and the Bold, the Chowder series recently announced an ending, pegging last week as it’s last episode. Though the finale will air again and again, the 30 minute “Chowder Grows Up” left fans laughing at the good times, but fondly (and perhaps tearfully) saying good bye. 20 years in the future, Chowder is still reluctant to grow up & leave his immature ways behind. He takes the responsibility of training his own apprentice and being a master chef cause everyone he loves will be unable to move on with their lives if he does not. Chowder selects a turtle apprentice, And in the end, and has 50 babies with Panini. Check out a clip of the finale, and let us know your favorite Chowder moments! (more… )
