While most Jetix channels are closing up shop as Disney XD moves in, the group that ran the Jetix channel in Italy is just moving to a new location — and a new name. They have inked a deal to acquire GXT (available via Sky Italia Entertainment Channels Package) and K2 (a free TV channel), both of which are exclusive to the Italian market. The group is now called Switchover Media, and plans to develop other projects and series on various TV platforms. It is currently unknown what will happen to the current Jetix lineup, which includes; Kid vs. Kat, World of Quest, Yin Yang Yo!, and Pokemon DP Battle Dimension – which went to Jetix just a year ago.

IGN recently had the chance to talk to the folks behind the  upcoming “Pokemon Platinum Version” game, due out in late March for the Nintendo DS. They got a bunch of great behind-the-scenes info out of the pair, producer Jyunichi Masuda and designer Takeshi Kawachimaru.  You can check out the full full interview at IGN, but here’s a sample after the break!

When Pokemon Platinum is finally released in the US, on March 22nd, some dedicated Pokemon trainers will be able to make a nice addition to their collection!  Players who pre-order this Nintendo DS game will receive a special gift from Nintendo: a limited edition Giratina Origin Form figure, made by Kaiyodo.  (Note: be sure to double check with your video game store to see if they are honoring the promotion!)

Jetix Europe has started to merge into The Walt Disney Company. Within the next few months, Disney should become the proud papa of Jetix Europe, taking full control over the programming decisions on the air.  No word yet on what immediate changes that will have on programming like Pokemon: Diamond & Pearl: Battle Dimension, but we should have details soon enough!

Jetix Europe has signed up with Cake Distribution to bring Total Drama Island over to the UK. “TDI” is an animated reality series, where contestants live and compete with one another, just like a live-action reality show.  The show is set to air on Jetix’s UK channel along with Dinosaur King and Pokemon DP Battle Dimension.

Pokemon Diamond and Pearl Battle Dimension is a really, really long title.  But the show is just so good, no one seems to mind!  Jetix Europe has been delighting fans for a few months now with the 11th series in the Pokemon chain since September 6th 2008, with a new episode airing every day at 6pm.  It’s also airing on YTV in Canada since August 16th, 2008. Well, you knew it was on it’s way, but did you know it was on its way this often!??! Jetix has Pokemon DP BD all over the place!!!  You can catch Pokemon Battle Dimension every day — on weekends, it’s on at 9 AM and 3:30 PM.  On weekdays, it’s on at 7 AM and 6 PM.  Before and after school, on relaxing Saturdays and Sundays…  Pokemon Diamond & Pearl Battle Dimension is everywhere!!  Have you been watching?  What do you think so far??

Now you can star in Pokemon: Diamond & Pearl: Battle Dimension! Seems like everyone wants in on the new Pokemon title, Pokemon Diamond & Pearl Battle Dimension.
