Nickelodeon teases Tuff Puppy, from the makers of The Fairly OddParents
Dudley, a crime-fighting super hero, has everything going for him; strength, speed, agility, and a weakness for… BONES!!! Yeah, he’s not human, he’s a dog. A puppy, in fact. More specifically, a TUFF Puppy. Nickelodeon’s new T.U.F.F. Puppy series brings Dudley and his partner, Kitty Katswell, up against the world’s super villains, like Verminious Snaptrap and D.O.O.M. the Diabolical Order Of Mayhem. The toon, which is slated to launch on Nick in the next few weeks, was created by Butch Hartman, the guy behind The Fairly OddParents and Danny Phantom. The Fairly OddParents and Nickelodeon present A Fairly Odd Movie: Grow Up, Timmy Turner
Imagine you’re a kid. Well, ok, that’s probably pretty easy. Now imagine you’ve also got magical fairy God Parents that will grant you all kinds of special wishes. Better, right? Now imagine that when you grow up, you lose those fairy guardians. Terrible! Well, that’s the challenge that Timmy faces with Nickelodeon presents the upcoming, future-set movie A Fairly Odd Movie: Grow Up, Timmy Turner. The special, a mix of live action and CG animation, takes Nick’s The Fairly OddParents animated series 13 years to the future, where Timmy is now 23, and refusing to grow up. Why? Because “Da Rules” say godchildren lose their fairies when they do, and Timmy would have to leave Cosmo and Wanda behind. Sony Pictures Animation to produce a Powerpuff Girls film?
Sony Pictures Animation is loving these animated films. Sure, they’ve had their level of success, including the recent Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, but now they’re potentially digging into some recent classics from the Cartoon Network. Rumor has it, they’re interested in working with Fred Seibert and his Frederator Studios. Might not sound too familiar, but let’s look at a bunch of their credits: The Fairly OddParents, Dexter’s Laboratory, and The Powerpuff Girls. An amazingly impressive lineup! I don’t know about you guys, but I wouldn’t mind going to see a movie based on each!
