The very first episodes of Wibbly Pig are almost reedy to debut! 9 Story Entertainment will showcase a preview of the series based on books by Mick Inkpen, readying everything for TV by this fall.  Right now, the show is geared to air via Cbeebies in the UK, and TVO and Knowledge Network in Canada.

Nelvana Studio and TeamTO have begun work on a new Babar series, The New Adventures of Babar. The show will be a 3D animated version of the beloved elephant, and is set to debut in the fall of 2010 on France’s TF1, and Canada’s YTV. The show, based on the classic books by Jean and Laurent de Brunhoff, will introduce King Babar’s 8-year-old grandson, who is a one-elephant stampede.

Pretty Cure will be making its way to Canada’s YTV, starting this weekend. The series, from Toei Animation, will run Every Friday at 3:30pm and every Saturday at 7am. Season one kicks off this weekend, with plans to run all year long!

I looove cookies! And now, I think CBS does too! Or, at least, Cookie Jar Entertainment. Even though companies like 4KidsTV abandon cartoon networks, CBS and Cookie Jar want to bring you toons instead!! The two companies just agreed to produce Saturday morning cartoons for the next three seasons! It’s not yet decided which cartoons will appear during the block, but could we be watching the Metajets as well as Noonbory & the Super 7 on CBS soon enough…?

Keyframe Digital Productions has recently announced that it was developing Peggy’s Little Harbour – a CGI animated series about a 6-year-old Canadian girl named Peggy who lives in a lighthouse with her grandmother and her dog, Droolie.  The show is all about problem solving, turning the viewers into detectives.  It also uses lots of Celtic references and music to stand out.

On Monday, February 23rd at 5:45pm, Corus Entertainment’s Treehouse will be home to the Canadian debut of Olivia, the CG animated series. The 15 minute episode is produced by Chorion and Brown Bag Films, and based on the Olivia book series, by Ian Falconer. New 15-minute episodes will air every day that week at 5:45pm. The following Saturday, February 28th, the network will feature a 30 minute episode at 6pm.

As promised, it looks like SEGA is going to bring us another Sonic-themed Olympics game — bringing along his pal Mario, of course. Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games will hit the Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS in a virtual  Vancouver, Canada.  The new game will even feature some Wii Balance Board aspects!  Check out the latest trailer, after the break, below.
