Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles strike a pose for TMNT Comiquettes
With 25 years to their history, there’ve been a number of really cool products based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, from the awesome arcade games to the sweet TMNT-style Snuggie. One particular item that caught our eye (and not with a Nun Chuck) is Sideshow Collectibles’ collection of Turtle Comiquettes – a hybrid word for comic book and maquette (which basically is fancy for “statue”). The level of craftsmanship in each of the figures is amazing, completely detailing your four favorite Mirage Studios’ greenies to the last bit; Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo never looked so good! As they prep for their official move from 4Kids (or “Toonzai”) to Nickelodeon, grabbing one of these would be a pretty sweet way to hype up! Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver sell 8.4 million Nintendo DS games
We knew the games were going to be popular; I mean, mixing Nintendo DS together with Pokemon is traditionally a recipe for success. However, we’ll be honest when we say we were simply blown away by how stunningly popular Pokemon HeartGold and Pokemon SoulSilver really were. Between September 09 and the end of March, nearly 3.8 million copies of the game were sold in Japan alone, with another 4.62 million being sold in just the 3 weeks they were available in the US and other regions. With all the hubbub about ToonBarn’s Pokemon Giveaway, we never really got a chance to delve into the Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver games with a review to let you know how they are. Thankfully, the folks at IGN stepped up with a thorough review, and a “Great 8.5″ rating to boot! While the Nintendo DS games are “just” remakes of the original GameBoy editions, obviously there was enough substance and great game play in the builds to warrant the high score.
