Alvin and the Chipmunks 3D
If Fox has anything to say about it, Alvin, Simon, and Theodore will be back. The Chipmunks have scored big at the box office twice now, and once on home DVD – The Squeakquel movie comes home later this month. But fans have clamored for more of their favorite CG / live-action hybrid adventures, and Fox, New Regency, and Bagdasarian Pictures are happy to oblige! The Princess and the Frog to DVD in a few days
In Just a few days, Disney’s The Princess and the Frog will hit Blu-ray and DVD, making it’s official launch on March 16th. As we gear up for the home welcoming of Disney’s latest animated blockbuster, we thought it would be fun to take a look at some fun clips and a sneak peek at the discs’ bonus materials. Turtles Forever, uncut and online
When we first heard of Turtles Forever, we were in TMNT heaven. Then crushed, when it was taken away. But then happy again when it was brought back as a TV movie. Unfortunately, many folks missed the airing, and with no specific talk of a DVD or theatrical release, the special was thought to be lost. But, ah, the joy of the internet! Thanks to awesome video sites, and the caring upload of loyal fans, Turtles Forever now lives online, in an unedited director’s cut format. Total Drama goes Totally London
Turner CN Enterprises has some big plans for Fresh TV’s Total Drama series over seas in London. The Cartoon Network (“CN”, indeed) supporting company is in the process of developing a new products for the entire Total Drama franchise, which includes Total Drama Island, Total Drama Action, Total Drama World Tour, and the not-yet-appropriately-named season 4 of Total Drama. As of now, the scope of the deals include publishing rights, DVD sales, and so on, but the nothing of further concepts (toys? video games?) is likely right around the corner. (more… )
WordGirl Earth Day Girl on DVD
Word up, it’s WordGirl! The Emmy-Award winning PBS series WordGirl is coming to save Earth Day. On March 30th, Paramount and PBS Kids will team together to bring the world WordGirl Earth Day Girl on DVD. The disc is packed with eight adventures, games, and featurettes, and a number of other bonuses included. Becky Botsford, aka WordGirl; the super hero with a super vocabulary is ready to prove crime doesn’t pay, uses flight, super strength, and her rocket home base to help in her mission to educate villains who speak improperly – and entertain thousands of fans at home. DCComics.com offers first look at Batman: Under the Red Hood
Making an early appearance on the Justice League Crisis on Two Earths DVD, DC Comics and DC Entertainment offer a first look at the latest upcoming animated film, Batman: Under the Red Hood. Years after the murder of his young protégé and second Boy Wonder Jason Todd, Batman and his first partner Nightwing, are being stalked by a mysterious figure known as the Red Hood, who apparently knew all of their secrets. The Dark Knight tries to unravel the Red Hood’s true identity, while battling two of his enemies; Joker, the criminally insane madman who murdered Jason, and Black Mask, who is launching a campaign to take over all of Gotham City’s criminal underworld. Wallace & Gromit: A Matter of Loaf & Death on DVD
Lionsgate and Hit Entertainment have partnered together with Aardman Animations to bring Wallace & Gromit: A Matter of Loaf & Death home on DVD. The special has been nominated for the Best Short Film (Animated) Oscar, so the timing feels quite right. The disc contains a number of bonus features, including a look behind the scenes titled How They Donut, audio commentary with director and creator Nick Park, and an episode of Shaun the Sheep. You may recall, last September, A Matter of Loaf and Death was included in the Wallace & Gromit: The Complete Collection. That set, available on Blu-ray and on a 4-disc DVD set, also includes Wallace & Gromit shorts – A Grand Day Out, The Wrong Trousers and A Close Shave. Take a look at the trailer (more… )
LEGO: The Adventures of Clutch Powers
We’ve seen them invade the Clone Wars universe, R2-D2, the world of Bionicle, even Ben: 10! Now, as of last Tuesday, February 23rd, the world of LEGO has spawned an all-new adventure with LEGO: The Adventures of Clutch Powers. This feature length animated tale is now available on both DVD and Digital Download. Clutch Powers, the best builder and explorer in the LEGO universe, heads off on his most dangerous mission yet. Viewers can join Clutch and his team of LEGO experts as their adventure leads them from LEGO City to the Space Police prison planet to the medieval world of Ashlar where they must help the rightful heir to the King’s throne find the courage to regain the kingdom from the evil wizard Mallock the Malign.
