Warner Bros. brings Looney Tunes’ Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote back to the big screen
Years ago, movies were big events. OK, they’re still big events now, but back in the 40s, 50s, and 60s, they were huge events. Sometimes, it would be a double feature, showing two movies instead of one, and more often than not, news reels and even cartoons would run before and after the showings. That’s, mostly, how the world was introduced to Bugs Bunny and the Looney Tunes pals. Taking a cue from this blast from the past, Warner Bros. Animation plans on reviving the in-theater toons with brand new, 3D animated shorts before relating Warner Bros. movies. The movies include July 30th’s Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore, September 24th’s Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole, and December 17th’s Yogi Bear. Guardians of Ga’Hoole now Legend of the Guardians, according to USAtoday.com
Warner Bros., likely in an effort to avoid becoming a bunch of “Ga’Hooligans”, has decided to change the name of the upcoming animated feature from from Guardians of Ga’Hoole to Legend of the Guardian. Maybe that’s Ga’Lame, maybe that’s Ga’Great, it really depends on how closely you want to stick to the 15-book series the movie is based, by Kathryn Lasky. The film still aims to hit theaters on September 24th, later this year, and will be headed up by Zack Snyder, featuring a voice over cast including Sam Neil, Jim Sturgess, Geoffrey Rush, Helen Mirren, Abbie Cornish, and Hugo Weaving among many others. The Guardians of Ga’hoole
The Guardians of Ga’hoole series of novels by author Kathryn Lasky is soon to become an animated film! Village Roadshow, Warner Bros. and Animal Logic will work together to produce the movie. So far, voice actors include: Jim Sturgess, Geoffrey Rush, Rachael Taylor, and David Wenham.

Guardians of Ga’Hoole is a new Warner Bros. 3D animated feature film, set to hit theaters July 30th, 2010. While the project is still early in development, the movie (which is based on the books by Kathryn Lasky) has already found some voices for the characters: Hugh Jackman, Hugo Weaving, and Ryan Kwanten have already signed up!
