The Green Lantern goes 3D
The world of 3D has had a lot of success lately, what with Avatar and Alice and Wonderland raking in the big bucks. The world of super hero films has also done nicely, what with Iron Man and Dark Knight raking in the big bucks. Using that logic, Warner Bros. has a great idea on their mind: combine the two! The upcoming Green Lantern film, will do just that. The Green Lantern, due to hit screens on June 17th, 2011, will bring the DC Comics hero into living 3D. Directed by Martin Campbell and starring Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan, DC Entertainment plans to take this imagination-based hero into the stars, but also into your eyes, through stereoscopic 3D use. Leaves us wondering; will the glasses be red, blue, and green…? (more… )

New Superman film on the way, with Batman’s help
Batman has had two very successful films recently; The Dark Knight became one of the highest grossing films of all time. After Superman Returns, Warner Bros and DC Comics are hoping to get the Superman franchise headed in the right direction, and they’re looking to their Batfriend for help. Warner and DC have reportedly turned to Christopher Nolan, the genius behind the latest Batfilms, to mentor development of the Superfilms. Along with his brother Jonathan and David Goyer, Chris is hard at work on a third Batman film, but the group would likely be along for Superman’s new look, as well. The film would not necessarily be a sequel to Superman Returns, but maybe a completely new reboot, not unlike the new future for Spider-Man. So, what do you think? Could this work? And would it give us a Batman and Superman team up movie to look forward to? (more… )

Batman: Under the Red Hood
DC Comics has been cranking out a number of hit DVDs over the past few years, via the Warner Premiere line. Superman and Batman: Public Enemies, Wonder Woman, and the upcoming Justice League tale, just to name a few. Continuing out the calendar, they’ve began promoting another animated film, Batman: Under the Red Hood. Blu-Ray.com unveiled some previews for the Justice League DVD, which included lists and details on the upcoming “Red Hood” disc. There’s no solid info about the movie’s plot, just yet, but we have seen the Red Hood before in Cartoon Network’s “Batman: the Brave and the Bold”, and comic fans have known it as a mask for a number of characters, including the Joker and Robin. We’ll just have to wait to find out more with this movie!
Superman Batman: Public Enemies
In just a few days, on September 29th, Warner Home Video via Warner Premiere is going to make the latest DC Comics-based DVD available to the world, Superman Batman: Public Enemies. The two all-star characters were formerly paired up in Justice League: The New Frontier, but there’s no Green Lantern or Wonder Woman this time. Now, it’s just the two of them fighting for truth and justice in a Jeph Loeb inspired tale against a Lex Luthor gone mad. Or, madder, anyway. If you were a fan of Batman: The Animated Series or Superman: The Animated Series, you’ll also be happy to know that the original voice cast is back to reprise their roles. Check out a sneak peek at the animation below the break!
