Marvel teases the Anime Iron Man

Marvel Entertainment Inc, home to a famous collection of super heroes, is working together with Madhouse, a Japanese animation studio, and Warren Ellis, an Eagle Award winning writer, to create four all new versions of classic Marvel Super Heroes. Since we started discussing this event, we’ve already gotten a look at the Wolverine anime, but now it’s ’s turn to shine! The Marvel Universe heads to Japan

Marvel Universe

The Marvel Universe is hoping to expand into Japan.  Marvel Entertainment, Inc. is partnering with Madhouse, a famous Japanese animation studio to create new characters for the Japanese market.  The two companies will work closely with one another, trying to produce a few new Japanese series that are inspired by Marvel’s immense library of characters.  The art will be adapted using a traditional style and creating unique back stories intertwining with local culture and Japanese history.

Could this mean Spider-Man swinging his way through Tokyo?  Or Wolverine with samurai sword claws?  The doing battle with in a sushi eating contest?

The first of four new series will launch in the spring of 2010 on the local network.  and Wolverine will be amongst the stars, but the plans will soon spread to the entire list of characters, from the to Daredevil to Thor to Captain … America?  We’ll see!  Stay tuned to ToonBarn for more details!
