Hawaii Film Partners and Frederator Studios team for Ape Escape
At a recent KidScreen Summit held in New York City, Hawaii Film Partners and Frederator Studios, the folks behind Nickelodeon’s Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! and The Fairly OddParents, got to show off some of their TV projects to an international audience. Included in the mix was Ape Escape, the animated series based on Sony PlayStation’s Ape Escape video game. The series got its first chance on the air via Nickelodeon’s Nicktoons last summer, in July 2009. The series stars Spector, Future Ruler of the World, and his army of minions as they repeatedly, if not awkwardly, try to take over the planet – all thanks to the wonderful pipo-helmet. Take a look at a clip of the series, and read up on some more detail right here (more… )

Just a few days ago, Nickelodeon UK formally acquired the TV rights to over 50 episodes of Beyblade: Metal Fusion from Nelvana Enterprises. In an effort to ramp up the action block of their NickToons network, the company will launch the new Beyblade series this September, filling in nicely with the other toons. Fanboy and Chum Chum starts in one week
The new CG animated series Fanboy and Chum Chum will debut on Nickelodeon next Friday, November 6th, at 9pm. Nick is hoping to make a big splash with the series, so it’s first appearance will be on immediately after the big hour-long SpongeBob special, Truth or Square. It was more than a full year ago ToonBarn first reported the then-developing series, when it was a piece of Nicktoons’ Random! Cartoons. Now, after the Friday night special next week, it will air regularly on Saturday mornings at 10:30am. Take a look at the show’s animation after the break!
The Super Hero Squad Show to Nick UK
Nickelodeon will be the home for Marvel Animation’s new animated series The Super Hero Squad Show in the UK. The action series starts up on NickToons this October, featuring stylized versions of Marvel’s famous super hero characters like Captain America, Silver Surfer, Hulk, Wolverine, and Iron Man — and don’t forget some of the super villains, like Dr. Doom, Red Skull, Galactus, and Magneto. The series features the voices of Charlie Adler, Steve Blum, Grey DeLisle, and Tom Kenny – known for providing the voice of SpongeBob. Also look out for special guest voiceovers, like Wayne Knight, LeVar Burton, Robert Englund, and Stan Lee as Super Hero City’s Mayor.
The Nickelodeon Animation Festival
Titmouse isn’t the only outlet looking for animators! The Nickelodeon Animation Festival (which used to be called the Nicktoons Network Animation Festival) is searching for up and coming animators to join in on the festival. Those willing and able to participate need to get their entries sent in by September 8th, which isn’t much time, but submissions will be featured on the air, online, and live at Nickelodeon Animation Studios. The festival itself will feature 6 different awards, including a brand new award for this year called “15 Seconds to Fame”, given to the creator of “the best 15 seconds of an animated funny character.” Stay TOONed for more details!

Nick and BILT Ten-on-Ten are working together to launch a back-to school line of Dora the Explorer and SpongeBob SquarePants notebooks. In addition to being handy for school notes, the notebooks also feature a few “fun pages,” with puzzles, coloring pages, and trivia about their favorite Nicktoons.
