PBS Kids get in the Halloween spirit

Are you going to a Halloween party as Buddy from Dinosaur Train? Or Super Why? Maybe Arthur? PBS Kids wants to make sure everyone gets into the Halloween “spirit” as they focus content on the spooky day. Tomorrow, October 30th, PBS Kids and PBS Kids Go! will air ghostly themed episodes of their cartoons, setting up for the big moment the following day, Saturday, Halloween!

Fetch! with Ruff Ruffman

PBS Kids’ science-centric gameshow, Fetch with Ruff Ruffman, will be kicking off its fourth season on September 11th. The first episode on that Friday will be an all animated special. Afterward, there will be 20 new episodes, focusing on green science, sports, and sound/light/heat. The series, which appears during the PBS Kids GO! block, is funded by the National Science Foundation.

The new Arthur episodes run every day this week, and provide information on how to take care of our planet. We only get one!

PBS Kids Go! and Ferris Bueller??

Cyberchase, the cyberspace-based (face?  race?) animated series (aww…) on PBS Kids Go! will have it’s own special guest on the June 19th episode.  Matthew Broderick, of Ferris Bueller fame, will provide the voice of Max in the special Father’s Day show.  Don’t worry, that still leaves plenty of time between now and then to get a gift! :)

Cyberchase: Weather WatchersOn April 20th, PBS Kids Go! will offer you all types of cool weather and storm information with the animated series Cyberchase, whose seventh season is called Weather Watchers. The show focuses on how math connects with climate issues. Their website also promises new games and activities for a full experience.

Help give Arthur a pal!

Help give Arthur a pal!Arthur, from PBS Kids Go!, is in need of a best pal — and he’s looking for your help to find one!  Or… CREATE one, I should say!  Arthur and CVS Caremark All Kids Can are teaming together for the “Arthur/All Kids can Character Search.”  Kids between the ages of 6 and 12 are invited to submit their ideas for a new character, specifically one with a unique ability, trait, or disability.  Just send in a drawing and description of what makes your character special before March 31st, 2009.  To get the official entry form with all the details, go to www.pbskidsgo.org/arthur/allkidscan starting tomorrow.  The winning selection will be featured in a live-action segment on an episode of Arthur!

Arthur turns 12

Arthur, one of the longest running animated series on TV, will turn 12 this week with the launch of its twelfth season.  The show, which airs on PBS Kids Go! has been around for over a decade, but is still going strong.  This week will feature five new episodes of Arthur, focusing on getting involved in the local community.  Special guest stars lending their voices to the show include Lance Armstrong and Joan Rivers.
