Word up, it’s WordGirl! The Emmy-Award winning PBS series WordGirl is coming to save Earth Day. On March 30th, Paramount and PBS Kids will team together to bring the world WordGirl Earth Day Girl on DVD. The disc is packed with eight adventures, games, and featurettes, and a number of other bonuses included. Becky Botsford, aka WordGirl; the super hero with a super vocabulary is ready to prove crime doesn’t pay, uses flight, super strength, and her rocket home base to help in her mission to educate villains who speak improperly – and entertain thousands of fans at home. Are you going to a Halloween party as Buddy from Dinosaur Train? Or Super Why? Maybe Arthur? PBS Kids wants to make sure everyone gets into the Halloween “spirit” as they focus content on the spooky day. Tomorrow, October 30th, PBS Kids and PBS Kids Go! will air ghostly themed episodes of their cartoons, setting up for the big moment the following day, Saturday, Halloween!

WordWorld has plans to get it’s name all around the world, to keep us fans happy! They’re working together with 4Kids Entertainment to bring the 3D animated series to networks in a number of other countries. The PBS Kids series hopes to start spreading to European and Asian countries before the end of 2009, so check your local listings and stay TOONed right here for more details!

This Labor Day, you’ll get a special reward in addition to a day off of school: PBS Kids is launching the Jim Henson Company’s new CG-animated series Dinosaur Train. The show educates about natural science, natural history, and the science of paleontology; dinosaurs!

Dr. Seuss isn’t don’t with animation just yet! His most famous story, The Cat in the Hat, is headed to PBS Kids in a new animated series titled The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That! The show is scheduled to start up in September 2010, and will star Martin Short as the voice for the Cat. …In the Hat. In addition to PBS Kids, the series will also appear on Treehouse in Canada.

PBS Kids is celebrating Memorial Day on Monday, May 25th with Super Why! Hurray for Heroes, a two-hour marathon of the series. This includes four episodes of the regular series, two of which are brand new. That’s quite a nice holiday bonus for us toon fans!
