Preview the upcoming Bakugan game

Bakugan is one of the hottest toy / anime combos on the market right now, and this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego was sure to show it off. Those lucky enough to get some time with the Activision and Now Production game at the show were quite pleased with how it was coming along. The game take place in 3D playing fields. At the start of a battle, players place an Arena card, which each have their own effects, like negating bonuses from your opponent’s monsters, or adding points to yours. Then players take turns throwing Bakugan Balls. The game will be available this winter for Nintendo DS, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, and Nintendo Wii, where you actually get to flick the remote to simulate real gameplay. Very straight forward, but very addictive. Who’s getting it?

At this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego, Marvel and Sony teamed up to announce that the next “big” thing in Marvel gaming will actually also be a “little” thing. A LittleBig thing. That is, Marvel will make an appearance in PlayStation’s LittleBigPlanet! If you own the game on your PS3, you’ll soon be able to download some super heroic costumes to apply to your character, including the suit for Captain America, Wolverine, and Iron Man. No word yet on when the “hero pack” would be released, but stay TOONed for more details!

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs: the video game

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs: the video game

The first week of July was pretty busy for “big time”, movie-based video games, featuring not only the debut of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, but more importantly to us, a game based on the animated Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs. The Activision Publishing and Twentieth Century Fox Licensing & Merchandising game for Ice Age launches at the same time of the 3D animated movie. The game was developed for all major consoles by Eurocom, and the handheld version for the Nintendo DS was developed by Artificial Mind & Movement. Would you get the game without seeing the movie?
