Nickelodeon welcomes Pocoyo
Nickelodeon has long since been known as a pioneer in the world of animated series. Helping continue that streak, the company’s sister channel, Nick Jr., will soon be broadcasting the CG animated series Pocoyo. The series, produced by Zinkia and ITV Studios Global Entertainment, will make its English-language premiere in the US, but it has long since been popular in other areas of the globe. The toon follows the adventures of a 3 year old boy named Pocoyo (which means “little me” in Spanish) and his animal pals: Elly the elephant, Pato the duck, and Loula the dog. Bolts and Blip getting ready for the tube
CJ Entertainment and ToonBox Entertainment (that’s a lot of entertainment) are working together on a brand new 3D and HD animated series named Bolts and Blip. We first got wind of the production about a year ago, but so much has changed and evolved in that span of time. ABC, Teletoon, KBS, Canal +, and TV3 are amongst the early adopters of the toon, with the hopes of debuting the very first episode sometime this summer. 115 million votes for Nickelodeon’s 23rd Annual Kids’ Choice Awards
Kevin James made one point loud and clear this past weekend: this year’s Kids’ Choice Awards was the largest ever. Nickelodeon’s 23rd Annual Awards show pulled in about 115 million votes for the various competitions and categories, all culminating in a single event this past Saturday on the Nick network. Twilight Saga: New Moon and Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel were amongst the big winners for the evening, as the Orange Blimps reigned supreme. Turtles in Time, in time
We know that the upcoming game, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time Re-Shelled, is due out August 5th. But, what you might not realize is how much Ubisoft’s game has evolved since Konami first released it in arcades nearly 20 years ago. We’re inching closer to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time Re-Shelled, the modern day remake of Konami’s 1991 side-scrolling arcade classic. The 4-player game features our green pals battling Shredder’s forces through history, and future, and has a new …time for when it will hit Xbox Love Arcade: August 5th. Ubisoft claims a launch on the PlayStation Network will take place later this year, but so far no word confirming the game for Nintendo Wii. Check out a cool preview trailer after the break!

Season 2 of The Spectacular Spider-Man starts tonight on Disney XD! Be sure to TOON in at 7pm tonight (June 22nd) for a special back-to-back premiere of the Spidey series, which is even cooler now that we have our behind-the-scenes look! In the first episode, “Blueprints,” Peter wants to talk to Gwen about their first kiss, but first, Spider-Man has a run-in with Mysterio. In the second episode, “Destructive Testing,” Peter wrestles with his feelings for Gwen and Liz, when Kraven the Hunter arrives to make Spider-Man his prey. Wibbly Pig getting ready for debut
The very first episodes of Wibbly Pig are almost reedy to debut! 9 Story Entertainment will showcase a preview of the series based on books by Mick Inkpen, readying everything for TV by this fall. Right now, the show is geared to air via Cbeebies in the UK, and TVO and Knowledge Network in Canada.
