Justice League Crisis on Two Earths out today
DC Comics and Warner Premiere; two similar-yet-different companies within the same realm. If only the two of them were filled with capes, masks, and super powers, it’d be very similar to their collaborative project, Justice League Crisis on Two Earths. This original, animated DVD and Blu-ray film is out today, February 23rd. It features the Justice League, similar to the incarnation from the Cartoon Network series, battling an evil Justice League from an alternative universe. True to the “opposite” stance, this evil League regularly does battle with a good Lex Luthor. How’s that for crazy! This is the seventh animated special in the line of the DC Universe Original Animated Movies line released by Warner Premiere and Warner Bros. Animation. Check out the trailer, then go buy the DVD or Blu-ray! (more… )
Justice League Crisis on Two Earths on Blu-Ray and DVD
Since teasing the animated disc last year, DC Comics and Warner Premiere have been somewhat quiet about the upcoming Justice League Crisis on Two Earths. But as the February 23rd launch date approaches, the pair is turning on the hype machine and spreading the word on how awesome the film is. The original direct-to-video animated flick, based on the original Justice League: Worlds Collide / Fearful Symmetry, sees a heroic Lex Luthor from another dimension calling to our Justice League to defeat the villainous version from his world. This creates Superman versus UltraMan, Batman versus Owlman, and more. Check out some clips of the special in action (more… )
Justice League gets adorably plush at Toy Fair 2010
Now, tell me this; what kind of horrible super villain would you have to be to want to hurt these guys? I mean, look at them! They’re adorable!! They make you just want to pick them up and give them hugs and make sure these super heroes have super days. This plush team of hero collectibles was recently shown off at Toy Fair 2010 this year, in a group fashion of Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, and the Flash, iconic figures from the Cartoon Network animated series Justice League and Justice League Unlimited. Packaged together as a “Justice League” (of love!) this collector set hopes to hit toy store shelves (and your heart!) later this year. …and… just one more time; “awwwwwwww!!!” (more… )
He-Man versus Superman at Toy Fair 2010
He-Man; super-strong good guy. Superman; super-strong good guy. We can all see the connection, so Mattel decided to capitalize on it and just partner the two up! Mattel is bringing their new action figure line of Masters of the Universe Classics to retail, paired up with DC Comics characters. The new figures, sculpted by Four Horsemen, have the look and feel of the original cartoon from the 1980s, but with modern style and craftsmanship. And, what’s more, they’ll be packaged in with 6″ DC Universe Classic action figures. The first 2-pack from this line will of course be Superman and He-Man, as the two stand toe-to-toe as they’ve done before, in DC Comics Presents #47. The toys were featured at Toy Fair 2010, and can now be seen here at ToonBarn! Check out the shots (more… )
Batman 3, The Dark Knight suits up again
What?! There’s going to be a third Batman film, to follow up after The Dark Knight?? OK, OK, I know. It’s not exactly blockbuster information to think there will be a Batman 3 in theaters after the first two amazingly successful films. Everyone knew it was coming, but this past week is the first time it was confirmed people were working on it. When we learned there was development on the Superman movie franchise, we got details that director Christopher Nolan was hard at work on (Dark Knight 2?) Batman 3. Great news for fans superhero films; Superman, Batman, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Green Lantern… whether it’s Warner Bros.’ DC Comics or Disney’s Marvel Comics, the film list continues to grow, making comic book fans happy. New Superman film on the way, with Batman’s help
Batman has had two very successful films recently; The Dark Knight became one of the highest grossing films of all time. After Superman Returns, Warner Bros and DC Comics are hoping to get the Superman franchise headed in the right direction, and they’re looking to their Batfriend for help. Warner and DC have reportedly turned to Christopher Nolan, the genius behind the latest Batfilms, to mentor development of the Superfilms. Along with his brother Jonathan and David Goyer, Chris is hard at work on a third Batman film, but the group would likely be along for Superman’s new look, as well. The film would not necessarily be a sequel to Superman Returns, but maybe a completely new reboot, not unlike the new future for Spider-Man. So, what do you think? Could this work? And would it give us a Batman and Superman team up movie to look forward to? (more… )

Batman: Under the Red Hood
DC Comics has been cranking out a number of hit DVDs over the past few years, via the Warner Premiere line. Superman and Batman: Public Enemies, Wonder Woman, and the upcoming Justice League tale, just to name a few. Continuing out the calendar, they’ve began promoting another animated film, Batman: Under the Red Hood. Blu-Ray.com unveiled some previews for the Justice League DVD, which included lists and details on the upcoming “Red Hood” disc. There’s no solid info about the movie’s plot, just yet, but we have seen the Red Hood before in Cartoon Network’s “Batman: the Brave and the Bold”, and comic fans have known it as a mask for a number of characters, including the Joker and Robin. We’ll just have to wait to find out more with this movie!
