Cartoon Network gets hyped for the Ben 10 Ultimate Alien: Cosmic Destruction video game
Ben has a pretty cool gig. I mean, he’s had, what, three shows so far? Ben 10, Ben 10: Alien Force, and Ben 10: Ultimate Alien. He’s had specials, movies, live-action segments, great LEGO toys, and all kinds of products. But one of the only ways to truly get a sense of just how cool it is to live Ben Tennyson’s life is to get your hands on a Ben 10 video game. Papaya Studio, Cartoon Network, D3 Publisher, and the rest of the folks behind the latest gaming adventure, Ben 10 Ultimate Alien: Cosmic Destruction, had that specific goal in mind – and it appears the goal was achieved! The game, due out in just a month, on October 5th, features 17 playable characters, including normal aliens, ultimate aliens, and Ben, himself — Fourarms and Rath will appear in special editions. Sega’s Sonic Colors speeding closer to a release date
We’re getting closer to the release of Sega’s latest Sonic the Hedgehog video game, Sonic Colors. In the game, players use the colorful power of energy obtained from Wisps. There eight kinds of energy offer Sonic special powers, including; White Wisps for an extra boost, Cyan Wisps to bounce off surfaces, Yellow Wisps to dig into surfaces, and Orange Wisps to rocket through the sky. The Wii version of Sonic Colors will use a mixture of 2D and 3D, while the Nintendo DS version will offer dual screen, vertical views. Square Enix brings Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded to Nintendo DS
Famitsu magazine, famous home to insider video game information, recently spoke with some of the head honchos at Square Enix, including Tetsuya Nomura. What was the purpose? To get some juicy tidbits on Disney’s Kingdom Hearts franchise! And were they successful? You betcha!! Nomura spoke about a mobile phone game in Japan that producers were unable to bring to the U.S. because of differences in the phone technology. So the company did the next best thing, and began reworking the title to with with Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi systems. The title is Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded, and because of the Nintendo DS’s added horsepower, the game will now feature 3D rendered models and a deeper battle system, incorporating elements from 358/2 Days. Square Enix also promises to sneak some Final Fantasy characters in, like Final Fantasy XIII’s Lightning. Score! (more… )

Metajets marathon on Cartoon Network for July 4th weekend
Cartoon Network is helping us celebrate the Fourth of July holiday in a big way this year! The toon-friendly channel is pumping out hours and hours of the anime series Metajets for all to enjoy in an all day marathon on July 4th. The high-flying series will continue at weekday mornings at 6:00 starting July 5th and running daily. The show is about young flying aces competing in the Aeronautical Racing Circuit, secretly battling for air supremacy. Pokemon Black and White’s Professor Araragi and other Pocket Monsters revealed at E3 2010
At this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo, many a big time game was shown, including a new Pokemon title, Pokepark Wii: Pikachu’s Adventure. However, not much of anything was revealed about what will surely be the hottest upcoming Nintendo DS game, Pokemon: Black and White. The game, developed by Nintendo and Game Freak, will feature fifth generation Pokemon characters, formerly never before seen, such as Zorua and Zoroark. Warner Bros. shows off Batman The Brave and the Bold the videogame at E3 2010
The 2010 Electronic Entertainment Expo was home to many new and exciting concepts, as well as cool technology like the Nintendo 3DS, but when it all comes down to it, the event was about the games. And thankfully for toon fans like us, there were a number of really well made video games with an animated series background. Take, for example, Batman The Brave and the Bold the videogame for the Nintendo Wii – a brand new 2D platformer from Warner Bros. Interactive and WayForward Technologies, based beautifully on the Cartoon Network series. The game, set to hit store shelves on September 7th, comes complete with the style and humor of the toon, and all the button-mashing, butt-kicking you can enjoy, with more than 60 heroes and villains from the DC Universe.
