Batman Beyond: The Complete Series makes Warner Bros. a hero

Warner Bros. Animation has a rich history of bringing DC Comics super heroes to life via animation, and then to your homes via DVD collections. One of the more popular, if not cult-ish, toons that has since been neglected in a complete collection is Beyond, the Future Knight version of the mythos, created by : The Animated Series and Justice League folks like Bruce Timm and Paul Dini. Now, WB unveils that they’re making everything right in the world, releasing Beyond: The Complete Series, a nine-disc DVD set, on November 23rd, 2010. On November 9th, 2010, Warner Home Video will distribute the DC Showcase Original Shorts Collection, a package that includes four animated adventures from the likes of , The Spectre, and Jonah Hex. Serving as the star feature in the collection is the fourth title: Superman/Shazam! The Return of Black Adam. Clark Kent’s latest interview subject is Billy Batson, a feisty kid with a lot of heart – and also one selected by an ancient wizard as the World’s Mightiest Mortal. By invoking the name of the wizard, “Shazam!” Billy’s powers erupt like lightning, turning him into the Superman-like Captain Marvel. Warner Premiere's DC Showcase Original Shorts Collection hits DVD and Blu-ray

Warner Premiere has been spitting out some awesome toons over the past few years, offering brand new tales from the DC Comics’ in animated form. , Superman, Justice League, Wonder Woman… many of the company’s “big guns” have had the spotlight head their way. As a nice little bonus, many of these discs included brief little vignettes on some of the lesser known DC All-Stars. Now, Warner Premiere, DC Entertainment, Warner Bros. Animation, and Warner Home Video will release a DVD and Blu-ray package that collections them all, dubbed the DC Showcase Original Shorts Collection. In addition to extended versions of the already released shorts like The Spectre, Jonah Hex, and , the package, due out November 9th, will include the brand new Superman/Shazam! Warner Premiere presents Superman Batman: Apocalypse, the Man of Steel and the Dark Knight versus Darkseid

And, luckily for fans like us, they’re all animated creations, expanding the world of toons for us all. Whether its Green Lantern or Wonder Woman or even all of the Justice League, they’re always hitting home runs with top notch work. This time around, we’re getting Superman and in the same film… again! We already had the awesome Superman Batman Public Enemies, now the super hero team is pairing once more to do battle against Darkseid on behalf of Supergirl in Superman : Apocalypse. Warner Bros. Animation revives Thundercats for Cartoon Network

One of the most beloved and classic franchises from the world of 1980s toons is walking-in, er, roaring-in, with a fresh coat of paint. Warner Bros. Animation has announced that they’ll be re-imagining the ThunderCats as a brand new animated series on Cartoon Network. “In addition to being Warner Bros. Animation’s first anime series, ThunderCats marks our most ambitious foray yet into fantasy,” said Sam Register, Executive Vice President, Creative Affairs, Warner Bros. Animation. The toon will be a collaboration between WBA and Studio4°C, reviving the likes of Lion-O, Snarf, Mumm-Ra, Tygra, Panthro, Cheetara, WilyKat and WilyKit, Ben-Gali, Pumyra, Lynx-O, and others in the lore. Warner Bros. brings Looney Tunes' Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote back to the big screen

Years ago, movies were big events. OK, they’re still big events now, but back in the 40s, 50s, and 60s, they were huge events. Sometimes, it would be a double feature, showing two movies instead of one, and more often than not, news reels and even cartoons would run before and after the showings. That’s, mostly, how the world was introduced to and the Looney Tunes pals. Taking a cue from this blast from the past, Warner Bros. Animation plans on reviving the in-theater toons with brand new, 3D animated shorts before relating Warner Bros. movies. The movies include July 30th’s Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore, September 24th’s Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole, and December 17th’s Yogi Bear. First to bat; the classic chase between Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote – never seems to work out too well for the latter. Beep beep! (more… )
