Justice League Crisis on Two Earths out today
DC Comics and Warner Premiere; two similar-yet-different companies within the same realm. If only the two of them were filled with capes, masks, and super powers, it’d be very similar to their collaborative project, Justice League Crisis on Two Earths. This original, animated DVD and Blu-ray film is out today, February 23rd. It features the Justice League, similar to the incarnation from the Cartoon Network series, battling an evil Justice League from an alternative universe. True to the “opposite” stance, this evil League regularly does battle with a good Lex Luthor. How’s that for crazy! This is the seventh animated special in the line of the DC Universe Original Animated Movies line released by Warner Premiere and Warner Bros. Animation. Check out the trailer, then go buy the DVD or Blu-ray! (more… )
Planet Hulk smashes through on Marvel’s animated DVD
As DC Comics brings it’s adventures to DVD via Warner Bros. and Warner Premiere, such as Justice League Crisis on Two Earths, the upcoming Marvel is trying to stake it’s own claim with direct-to-video animated films, such as the upcoming Planet Hulk. Betrayed by his fellow heroes (Iron Man, Dr. Strange, and Reed Richards) the Hulk is sent to a distant world where he will no longer be a threat. However he lands on planet Sakaar where he is forced to fight in gladiator-like battles. The people there believe the Hulk to be a savior who will stop the oppression of the Red King. But Hulk wants no part of their fights. Will he save their world…or destroy it? Taken directly from the comic-book storyline by Greg Pak and Carlo Pagulayan, the animated DVD hit shelves recently and is available everywhere. Check out the trailer (more… )
Justice League Crisis on Two Earths on Blu-Ray and DVD
Since teasing the animated disc last year, DC Comics and Warner Premiere have been somewhat quiet about the upcoming Justice League Crisis on Two Earths. But as the February 23rd launch date approaches, the pair is turning on the hype machine and spreading the word on how awesome the film is. The original direct-to-video animated flick, based on the original Justice League: Worlds Collide / Fearful Symmetry, sees a heroic Lex Luthor from another dimension calling to our Justice League to defeat the villainous version from his world. This creates Superman versus UltraMan, Batman versus Owlman, and more. Check out some clips of the special in action (more… )
Batman: Under the Red Hood
DC Comics has been cranking out a number of hit DVDs over the past few years, via the Warner Premiere line. Superman and Batman: Public Enemies, Wonder Woman, and the upcoming Justice League tale, just to name a few. Continuing out the calendar, they’ve began promoting another animated film, Batman: Under the Red Hood. Blu-Ray.com unveiled some previews for the Justice League DVD, which included lists and details on the upcoming “Red Hood” disc. There’s no solid info about the movie’s plot, just yet, but we have seen the Red Hood before in Cartoon Network’s “Batman: the Brave and the Bold”, and comic fans have known it as a mask for a number of characters, including the Joker and Robin. We’ll just have to wait to find out more with this movie!
Justice League: Crisis On Two Earths
Early next year, DC Comics plans to bring us Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths. Originally, the direct-to-video animated film was an attempt to bridge the gap between the end of Justice League, and the start of Justice League Unlimited, both originally run on Cartoon Network. However, the project has since been converted to its own movie, and will serve as the seventh film in the DC Universe Original Animated Movies line released by Warner Premiere and Warner Bros. Animation. The story line features an alternate universe, where there is a good Lex Luthor as a hero and a bad Superman in the Crime Syndicate. And, of course, once the two connect, its a non-stop action fight! Check out a sneak peek video of the DVD (more… )
Superman Batman: Public Enemies
In just a few days, on September 29th, Warner Home Video via Warner Premiere is going to make the latest DC Comics-based DVD available to the world, Superman Batman: Public Enemies. The two all-star characters were formerly paired up in Justice League: The New Frontier, but there’s no Green Lantern or Wonder Woman this time. Now, it’s just the two of them fighting for truth and justice in a Jeph Loeb inspired tale against a Lex Luthor gone mad. Or, madder, anyway. If you were a fan of Batman: The Animated Series or Superman: The Animated Series, you’ll also be happy to know that the original voice cast is back to reprise their roles. Check out a sneak peek at the animation below the break!
Cartoon Network’s Scooby-Doo! The Mystery Begins
About 40 years ago, Hanna-Barbera showed their first episode of the animated Scooby-Doo series. Now, in a little less than a month on September 13th at 7pm, Cartoon Network will be hosting the world premiere of the latest Scooby-Doo special, Scooby-Doo! The Mystery Begins on Sunday. Cartoon Network worked on the film along with Warner Premiere, known for its production of DC Comics animated titles like Green Lantern First Flight, Wonder Woman, and Batman: Gotham Knight. The mixed live-action and CG animated movie explores the origins of how the Mystery Inc. gang of meddling kids (and their dog, Scooby-Doo, too) came together to solve their very first mystery.
