The Winx Club have big screen magic in Winx Club 3D Magical Adventure
Bloom, Layla, Flora, Stella, Tecna, and Musa are back and headed to the big screen in the Winx Club’s newest movie Winx Club 3D Magical Adventure. Rainbow and Iginio Straffi are working together on the CG animated film, nearly three years after their last adventure, The Secret of the Lost Kingdom. The movie is running at the Cannes Film Festival, and will debut in Italy on October 29th, via Medusa. Bloom is living happily with her parents in Domino as Princess of the Realm, when Sky asks her to marry him. But then Sky’s father Erendor forbids Sky to marry Bloom, revealing a terrible secret he had concealed for a long time. Are the witches involved in the secret? Could it compromise the destiny of Domino and the entire Magic Dimension? Only with the help of the Winx Club, together with the Specialists, does Bloom manage to overcome all adversity, rescuing the Magic Kingdom in the process. First look at Cartoon Network’s presentation of Totally Spies The Movie
Marathon Media’s Totally Spies! franchise has done well for the company, garnering even more interest in the past few months when Marathon and Cartoon Network agreed to air Totally Spies in the US. Included in the deal was the Totally Spies movie, aptly named “Totally Spies: The Movie!” which originally aired in France last July. Marathon is also known for it’s series Monster Buster Club, Martin Mystery, and the rising star Gormiti, so they’re certainly no newbie for toons! The group, which stars three teenage girls (Sam, Clover, and Alex) is created in the super-hero girl team style of Sailor Moon, Winx Club, and others – both beautiful and powerful. Rainbow spreads PopPixie magic across the globe
Hot off the deal of bringing Winx Club into the world of 3D with Winx Club 3D Magical Adventure, Rainbow is now looking to bring PopPixie some worldwide fame. The animation studio has signed deals with Teletoon, TVI, and Alter TV to bring PopPixie to those regions in France, Portugal, and Greece, respectively. The deals don’t stop there! Rainbow has also signed on with Bandai, Leomil, Carel, and Mirtillo to produce a number of products and accessories for the little magical creatures, including toys, action figures, plush dolls, sneakers, clothes, and more. Gormiti SuperSite launches at ToonBarn
We’ve been adding a number of SuperSites to ToonBarn over the past few months. SuperSites, for those not in the know, are homepage-like sections of ToonBarn that focus on a specific cartoon. There’s one for Batman, one for Ben 10 which includes Ben 10 and Ben 10 Alien Force, there’s one for Pokemon, one for SpongeBob SquarePants, one for Winx Club, one for the Total Drama franchise, etc. Newest to the party list is Gormiti, whose SuperSite launches this week. Winx Club 3D Magical Adventure
It might only be their second movie, but they’ll be using three dimensions! Rainbow unveiled it’s latest project, Winx Club 3D Magical Adventure, a 3D feature film – the first movie to be produced in Italy using 3D stereoscopic technology. The plan is to have the film ready in Italian theaters later this summer, then eventually bring the flick around the world for the rest of us to see. This comes nearly 3 years after the first CG film was released, Winx Club: The Secret of the Lost Kingdom, back in November of 2007. So what do you think we can expect from the newest movie? Totally Spies and Amazing Spiez hit Cartoon Network
Cartoon Network has been busy in the spy game lately, working a deal with Marathon Media and Zodiak Entertainment Distribution to bring a number of new toons to the channel. Included in the list are the new series Amazing Spiez, and at least the fifth season of the long-running, Totally Spies! Created by Vincent Chalvon-Demersay and David Michel, and directed by Stephane Berry and Pascal Jardin, Totally Spies is a popular girl series, not unlike the Winx Club, that began airing in 2001. Since then, the toon has seen some tremendous success, including a feature film, Totally Spies! The Movie, that Cartoon Network will also now be able to air. Toei plans for the return of Sailor Moon
SailorMoon is a classic anime adventure, and remains one of the most popular toon series of all time. It has been credited as popularizing the idea of teaming magical girls, revisited in so many other series; PowerPuff Girls, Winx Club, etc. The girl team of Sailor Soldiers or Sailor Scouts can transform into heroines named for the moon and planets (Sailor Moon, Sailor Mercury, Sailor Mars, etc) and are destined to defender a kingdom that once spanned the solar system, using their magical powers to fight evil. Now, Toei Animation is partnering with Backstage to re-launch the anime series in Italy. Mediaset has already acquired the TV rights, ready to air the first season this fall, joining other Toei toons, like Dragon Ball, Saint Seiya, and One Piece. (more… )

Yoko, Mo & Me
m4e, a distribution and media company, has given the thumbs up on a brand new series called Yoko, Mo & Me. The adventure, a split between live-action and CG animation, is a co-production along with Rainbow, the company behind hit projects like the Winx Club and Huntik. Also helping produce the show is March Entertainment and Lucky Punch. The series is still extremely new to production, not anticipating a screen debut until 2011 at the earliest, but the hopes are already high.
