Warner Premiere’s Superman/Shazam! The Return of Black Adam to DVD
On November 9th, 2010, Warner Home Video will distribute the DC Showcase Original Shorts Collection, a package that includes four animated adventures from the likes of Green Arrow, The Spectre, and Jonah Hex. Serving as the star feature in the collection is the fourth title: Superman/Shazam! The Return of Black Adam. Clark Kent’s latest interview subject is Billy Batson, a feisty kid with a lot of heart – and also one selected by an ancient wizard as the World’s Mightiest Mortal. By invoking the name of the wizard, “Shazam!” Billy’s powers erupt like lightning, turning him into the Superman-like Captain Marvel. Unfortunately, Black Adam is also in that league, out to destroy Marvel, Superman, and anyone else that gets in his way. Check out the voice cast and full press release (more… )

Young Justice made it’s animated debut at this year’s Comic-Con 2010, and the Warner Bros. toon is sure to shake up the ground of Cartoon Network when it starts up this fall. Teenage heroes like Robin, Superboy, Kid Flash, Miss Martian, Artemis, and Aqualad fill out the Young Justice roster, though producers claim that wont necessarily be the same lineup at the end of the year; supposedly, some will be cut, some new ones will be added, and some will have lost the fight against evil. Warner Premiere to revisit the DC Comics classic Batman: Year One
DC Comics and Warner Premiere have partnered again and again on bringing the DC Universe to life through amazing animated DVDs and Blu-ray discs. We’ve been treated to stories about Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and the Justice League, to name a few, but it’s Batman and the top-ranking popularity of the Dark Knight that have earned the most nods, including the recent Batman: Under the Red Hood. Now, rumor has it the next Batman story will be perhaps the most famous and best comic of them all, Frank Miller’s 1987 classic, Batman: Year One, with the floated date of September 27th, 2011, and directors Sam Liu and Lauren Montgomery. This would have the title coincide with Christopher Nolan’s third film in the Batman franchise. Could this be true? Would you love it if it were? Can you tell that we really, really, really would?!!? Cartoon Network’s Young Justice
They’re not quite in the Justice League. They’re not quite in Teen Titans. They’re not a band of brothers like the X-Men, or singular loners like Spider-Man. They’re a collection of super heroes who sometimes feel that the whole world, not just the super villains, are against them. Tough being a teenager – though I imagine it’s easier if you could fly. Cartoon Network will soon let us find out as they unveil their newest super toon, Young Justice. The team consists of Robin, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Superboy, Miss Martian, and Artemis; each with a relation to iconic DC Comics heroes like Batman, Aquaman, Flash, Superman, Martian Manhunter, and Wonder Woman. The Warner Bros. Animation series will stake its claim on Cartoon Network sometime soon, and is in the capable hands of Sam Register, Brandon Vietti, and Greg Weisman, who have an impressive resume between them (Teen Titans, Ben 10, Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Batman: Under the Red Hood, Superman Doomsday, The Batman, Gargoyles, The Spectacular Spider-Man, W.I.T.C.H.).
